National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification
The National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification is a nationally recognised award that will provide the learner with an introduction to all elements of beach lifeguard theory, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, pool skills and open water skills. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times and lifting. The NVBLQ is comprised of a variety of units and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.
Course Units
Module 1
Beach Lifeguarding – knowledge and understanding.
Module 2
Basic Life Support and First Aid.
Module 3
Pool Based – fitness tests and releases.
Module 4
Beach Based – lifeguard rescue skills and knowledge.
Fitness requirements for examination
Swim 400m in a 25m pool (16 lengths) in 8 minutes or less

40hrs plus an additional assessment day
